SMT Indio

The SMT Indio is the first of the SMT line to be patented (in China), this 430cc, 100% titanium club hits more solid and longer than its size would indicate. Bigger isn't always better.

Designed with many of the same features as the Babylon, the patented crown design of the Indio stands out from the crowd.

The revolutionary cross-hatch crown has been forged with weight reduction and rigidity in mind. The bottom of the crown has been forged with a different, tear drop design which also reduces weight and increases rigidity to strengthen the crown. The result: a blend of technology and functionality that delivers a crown that is lighter but will withstand the violent effects of ball and club impact better than traditional manufacturing techniques.

So, what did we do to counter the weight that we removed from the crown? We cut deep angular fins to add more product area to a sole of similar size. We were able to add weight in all of the "right" places without welding weight chips onto the inside of the soleplate or through the addition of copper weight or screw systems.

The Indio gives you more weight where you need it - and less where you don't - and a solid feel and sound that let's you know you're hitting SMT.

SMT Encore

The SMT Encore was born out of the long and arduous design process realized when creating the Spectrum. The Spectrum achieved more than expected in its debut, by becoming the Longest Driver on any PGA Tour for the 2004 season with a driving distance average of 330.9 yards—a full 18 yards longer than the next nearest clubhead.

We took that same design principle of extreme pure energy transfer that is generated through impact, and simply incorporated it into a clubhead of larger size. The Encore, at 450cc's - the second largest in the line - has been worth the wait.

The same full, 3-sided wraparound soleplate design of the Spectrum was retained with a couple of modifications and now the "Big Brother" to the Spectrum already has a place waiting for it in SMT lore. This clubhead is made to simply bomb it! Nothing shy about this one. And, we even went so far as to make the paint a unique satin finish black - something no other component has ever done. This club will leave your playing partners yelling "Encore, Encore" at the end of your performance!

SMT's Babylon Driver plays very solid with the lowest Center Of Gravity of the bunch. It has a reduced spin profile and a high launch angle . . . almost 3/4 of a degree weaker than stated loft. (Be sure to allow for that when ordering.) A muted sound due to the graphite composite crown, will not bring attention to the shot, but you will most likely not be hitting first from the fairway. Tee this one up and watch it soar. It puts the fun back into your tee shots!

SMT O2

For those who would love to try the 455 Deep Bore, but aren't quite comfortable with the larger size, try SMT's O2! Beautiful and rich see-through copper color with smoke black edges and backskirt, this "bad boy" will perform the same duties as the 455 Deep Bore.

With it's deep bore design for stabilization, the SMT O2's more rounded body shape and ever so slightly higher Center Of Gravity than the 455, it fits into the SMT line without so much as a ripple. Besides the Spectrum, it is the only other head to have a unique modified alignment crown design.

The trajectory is just a shade lower than the 455, for a very penetrating ball flight.

SMT Shinnecock

SMT's Shinnecock is the longest clubhead SMT makes when measured from heel to toe. SMT Spectrum

After thirteen months on the design table, the Spectrum comes to life in 2004! The first ever full 3 sided wrap around soleplate design. SMT was looking for a clubhead that had the most efficient transfer of power possible - with the ball leaving the clubface as quickly and as legally as possible. SMT wanted the Spectrum to feel and look like nothing that has ever been done before - and it seems they did it!

Due to the manufacturing process, it is almost impossible to have a soleplate that covers three distinctive sides of the head. Sole, backskirt and crown. It takes on a special meaning since SMT heads are made differently than all other heads.
